Ahead of the October weekend at Leela, there’s another opportunity for some West Country dancing as Mila heads to Dartington to join fellow Dorset School graduate (or very nearly), Geoff Green, to kick off his Autumn term of classes on Saturday September 20th.
Dancing kicks off with Geoff from 10am followed by a shared lunch before we reconvene with an afternoon offering from Mila.

Biodanza weekends are back! Niraj is back! After a 9 year break, what was once a regular monthly occurrence returns to Leela with a vengeance! And reinforcements! Milarepa steps up to the high table to co-facilitate the return of the dance of life to the heart of the Dorset countryside, bringing his irrepressible good humour and nature to the party to make one helluva dynamic duo!
This weekend kicks off a series which intends to generate momentum towards a new cycle of the Dorset School of Biodanza (DSoB) sometime in 2026. That clientele will include enthusiastic new trainees who want to dive into the heart of the Biodanza technique, develop and grow and eventually go on to be teachers in their own right. It will also include ex trainees, graduates of DSoB or other schools that want to immerse themselves in the depths of experience that only residential weekends can offer. It may include teachers who may need inspiration to regenerate their careers or again who just love the feeling of being in An established group. It may include lovers of the dance who know teaching is not for them, but are happy to support others by being companions in their journey and being part of the infrastructure of a Biodanza group that helps everyone grow and learn.
So a school is a multi-faceted beast and caters to many needs and different types of intentions. But that is for next year!
This year, in autumn we return during the season of change to bring you upliftment, inspiration, embodiment and community in the best way possible…through authentic and expressive dance in optimal surroundings, the house and grounds of Leela!
The weekend will consist of a broad sweep of Biodanza music, exercises, themes and flavours to tickle the palate of the seasoned veteran or the enchanted newbie. Friday evening will commence with a vivencia (dance) of Vitality and Affectivity to allow you to shake off your journey, enliven your body and drop into harmonious connection with the others in the group. After a good night’s rest we resume with dances of Creativity and Affectivity to start to expand our range of bodily expression and deepen our bond with the peer group.
A break before lunch to wander at your leisure in the grounds or relax in the foyer prior to the afternoon session based around pleasure and sensuality. The evening is an open book at this stage, but could include a sauna and/or bonfire, a drink at the bar and some dancing. We may be privvy to an activity that another group we share Leela with each time (up to 3 groups running simultaneously) depending on who they are and what they are doing.
Sunday sees us engage with the final group of exercises Biodanza has to offer, the line of Transcendence, where we connect beyond ourselves and the group to reach a state of communion with the All That Is, the beyond, the totality, the Universe. If we’re lucky!
Again, time and space is given to digest these more intense and peak experiences before and after meals, then we close out the weekend with a shorter vivencia integrating all that has gone before and a sharing circle to bear witness to everyone’s description of what has happened for them and their learnings and realisations.
What will participants gain from this weekend:
Niraj and Milarepa are vastly experienced facilitators in their own right and will co direct the new cycle of the Dorset School of Biodanza in 2026. Niraj ran 4 cycles of the training, mostly at Osho Leela from 2006-2019 and Mila graduated from the first cycle and has been active almost weekly in and around Dorset ever since.
I have zero interest in running anything where people are free to zone out and disconnect at any and all times by getting their phone out and becoming completely distracted from the people and the environment surrounding them (see contemporary social life in all circumstances and situations). Therefore anyone choosing to work with me by default opts in to a total digital detox by surrendering their devices from minute 1 at check-in till the time of departure from the venue.
